A book which studies the evolution of piano technique, relating it to the transformation of repertoire, of pedagogical theory and the performance style of the great figures.750 pages, 250 musical examples, more than 1,000 musical works mentioned and a bibliography of almost 400 volumes: a series of documents which include previously unknown material and theoretical works which have never been the object of exhaustive analysis.
